Obituary of William E. Nelson

ANDREWS/ASHEVILLE – William E. “Bill” Nelson, age 75, formerly of Asheville, died Sunday, December 23, 2018.

Bill was born July 23, 1943 in Buncombe County to the late William T. and Alice Jump Nelson. He was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Boyd J. Nelson.

Surviving are his wife, Sandi Roberts Nelson; son, Scott Nelson and wife Tammy; sister, Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Nelson; half-sister, Dorothy Hall; half-brother, Ted Nelson; and two grandchildren, Delaney and Eric.

His memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Beverly Hills Baptist Church, 777 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805. Reverend Dr. Billy King will officiate. The family will greet friends following the service.

A private burial will be held at a later date in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
