Dear Beverly,
I am out of town this weekend. I want you to know that I have been thinking about you and your loss. I have known Benn since approximately 1974 and I don't have to tell you what a great person he is. In conversations with Benn I understood what a great relationship the two of you had. He was very proud of you. ~~ Your Friend, Joe

Ben became a good friend when he first started working with us at Interstate Johnson Lane and was a good friend today. I enjoyed visiting with Ben just a couple of weeks ago and we laughed about him hitting a bear on the trail while riding in the forest.
Ben, Paul Varnesky and I had a lot of fun working together years go. Lou and I will miss him and our hearts go out to Beverly.

Dear Beverly and friends, so sorry for your loss. Benn was a very special man who was always full of fun and happiness. I worked with Benn at USF&G. We had the same position but two different territories. He was always so ready to help me learn while always being a gentlemen. He kept me posted about our friends and acquaintances....he remembered them all. I am glad he was where he loved to be. Philip and I came to visit for some social time at your home. I will miss him very much. I know you were the love of his life. Prayers for comfort and peace. Love Sherry Rogers

I met Benn through mutual friends about 20 years ago. My Dad had several investments that Benn handled. When my Dad passed away Benn was there for me and my family, taking care of everything down to the last detail. He even offered to take my Dad's old dog, even though that did not work out.
I have enjoyed visiting with Benn at Wells Fargo from time to time and have especially enjoyed our "old guy" dinners where several of us gather to have dinner and tell lies. Benn was more-or-less the "go-to" guy for these wonderful events.
You will be missed, my friend. May you and your family find the peace you so richly deserve.

Benn and I became good friends in 1965 when he was a freshman and I was a sophomore at UNC-CH. All the mountain boys got to know each other and made trips home via thumbing or finding a fellow Tar Heel with a car. Many times Benn and I took folks from the "Flat Land" to Elon, High Point, or other venues to see the legendary Henry Logan. The non-believers finally believed Benn and me when they saw Logan's dazzle. Benn and I met for lunch over the years to talk Carolina sports and to reminisce about the Logan days. Our last lunch was the end of November and we vowed to invite Henry next time! I will always think about that lunch that will never happen. My condolences to Beverly and Benn's family. He will be missed!

We are sorry to hear of Benn's passing. I have so many fond memories of playing at his house when we were kids. Aunt Helen always fixed us lunch and then it was back outside to play again. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Benn and I began a forty year friendship at the Y Health Club and remained friends over these many years. Although I am older, he was example to me of a thoughtful person, a warrior, and a "Champion". I will miss his friendship, interesting perspectives, and unique humor.
My humblest condolences to Beverly and Benn's family.

Beverly & I are very close friends, love her like my own sister. We went to school & church together growing up in Weaverville. I've know Benn since he & Beverly started dating. Being a little protective of her, I had to make sure this man could measure up. Did he ever! Just seeing that beautiful smile & the way he looked & treated her, all of my reservations just melted away. They were both independent, did their own thing, but had a lot in common & most of all - were totally in love. It worked! They had a wonderful rewarding life together. Please remember Beverly in your prayers - it's not going to be easy without him, but I know her & her faith in God will pull her thru. Benn - first of all I'm going to miss "my hugs" & that "solidness, steadiness & warmth" that was just you. So many good memories my friend - here, on the mountain in Franklin & at the beach, no regrets. A life well lived! Heaven's gain! We'll all be together again one day. Until then, much love.... Annette

Beverly and Family,
Eddie and I are very saddened by the news of Benn's passing.
Eddie and Benn worked together and have remained friends for forty years. He is the only only person we know who was as much of a Dodger fan as Eddie. Lots of years of comparing thoughts on trades and predictions. Benn was also the major influence on Eddie's running and keeping in shape. We enjoyed our trips to Kiawah to run the Half. Great memories. Benn will surely be missed. Thoughts and Prayers to you all. Eddie and Becky Haynes
