Obituary of Mildred Wallen Snyder

WOODFIN– Mildred Wallen Snyder, age 98, of Woodfin died Saturday, February 9, 2019.

Mrs. Snyder was born September 5, 1920 in Buncombe County to the late William Franklin and Julia Holcombe Wallen; she was a resident of Buncombe County all of her life. She was a member of Richland Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Goldman Snyder who died in 2004 and eleven siblings.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda Cole and husband Gaye of Asheville; son, Maurice Snyder of Weaverville; granddaughters, Christy Morgan and Lisa Gentry and husband Lee; along with great grandchildren, Colton and Kaela.

 Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville. Reverend Nelson Ponder will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral service.
