Obituary of Betty Davis Whitted

WEAVERVILLE– Betty Davis Whitted, age 85, of Weaverville, died Monday, February 11, 2019.

Betty was born May 18, 1933 in Buncombe County to the late Willaim and Lizzie Kate Buckner Davis; she was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life.  She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mae Kent and Thelma Rice; brothers, Ed, Troy, Herman and Bunkie Davis; grandson, Michael Black and a great granddaughter.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda Willis and husband Shorty, Patty Wheeler and husband Bobby, Peggy Bell and husband Dennis; sons, Danny Black and Billy Black; sister Lavada Gibson; eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery, Weaverville.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville.
