Barbara Louise is how I knew her because I handled her paperwork while she was a teacher at Lake Valley Navajo School, a Bureau of Indian Education operated school near Crownpoint, NM. She moved into a house across the street from me when she first arrived at our school. She was my good neighbor. She taught k-3rd. Her teaching provided quality education to our Navajo students. She taught my daughters. Her teaching contributed through their education successes. I am forever thankful for that. I remembered her as a very caring individual always involve with students making sure they are protected. Even after they finished school, she would do follow ups to make sure they continue their education. She was like a mother hen to them. Everybody in our community of Lake Valley from young to elderly people used to love her. They were sad when she retired and left. Some of us stayed in contact with her. She was very talkative, thoughtful, friendly, and enjoyed being in our community. We will miss her dearly. May she Rest In Peace forever.

I really enjoyed having Barbara as my friend. I didn't know that she had been so sick, nor did I know that she was at the Brian Center, as I have been sick too. Loved her sharp wit, and her ability to speak her mind. She was a character!!
