Obituary of Richard Guy Riddle

WEAVERVILLE– Richard G. Riddle, age 82, of Weaverville died Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Mr. Riddle was born February 6, 1937 in Buncombe County to the late Don and Loretta Carson Riddle; he was a resident of Buncombe County for all of his life. He served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer.  Richard was of the Baptist faith.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cribb Riddle who died in 2009; sister, Jean Robinson and brother, Bud Riddle.

Surviving are his daughter, Sherri McKinney; son, Ronald “Ronnie” Riddle; brother, Neil Riddle and wife Judy; and grandsons, Bryson G. Riddle and Tyler J. McKinney.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Mack Case will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home.
