Obituary of Betty Plemmons Edwards

WEAVERVILLE - Betty Edwards, age 78, of Weaverville, died Friday, May 31, 2019.

Mrs. Edwards was born May 1, 1941 in Madison County to the late Bryan and Nellda Lusk Plemmons. She lived most of her adult life in Buncombe and Madison Counties. Betty retired from UNCA Food Services. She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Edwards who died in 2000; her sister; Pauline Fowler, and brothers, Gerald and Eugene Plemmons.

Surviving are her daughters, Lisa Edwards Crane and husband Doug of Hendersonville; Livia Luther and husband Josh of Weaverville; son, Dan Edwards and wife Jackie of Weaverville;  sister, Ann Ramsey and husband Donnie of Weaverville; brother, Newton Plemmons of Weaverville; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2019 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.

The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the funeral home. Due to Betty’s love of flowers they will be graciously accepted.
