Obituary of Ryan Kalen McClure

WEAVERVILLE – Ryan Kalen McClure, age 35, of Weaverville, died Wednesday, June 23, 2019.

Ryan was born April 23, 1984 in Haywood County and was a resident of Buncombe County for the past 25 years. Ryan graduated from NB High School and Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College. He served in the US Navy for 5 years and worked for the US Postal Service as a city mail carrier.  Ryan loved his son, Brody, fishing, hiking and working out.  He was a member of GracePoint-Woodland Hills Church.

Surviving are his mother and dad, Patty Paquette Burgess and husband Weston Burgess of Weaverville; son, Ryan Brody McClure of Hendersonville; biological father, Rick McClure of Canton; maternal grandfather, Edward Paquette and wife Barbara of Candler; step-brothers, R.J. McClure and Rory McClure; uncle, Kevan Paquette and wife Paula; aunts, Kelly Moore and husband Phil and Vicky Smathers and husband Lenny; cousins, Sarah Johnson and husband Thomas and their children, Susan Partridge and husband Josh and their children, and Amanda Curtis and husband Brian;  a friend whom he loved like a brother, Adam Garland who is serving in Kuwait.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2019 in Trinity Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Rev. Glenn Meadows will officiate.

Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.

The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday at the church.

West Funeral Home is assisting the family.
