Obituary of Irene McDaris

WOODFIN – Irene McDaris, age 88, of Woodfin, died Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Miss McDaris was born March 27, 1931 in Buncombe County to the late Roy C. and Burnice Clinton McDaris; she was a resident of Buncombe County all of her life. Irene formerly worked at Vanderbilt Shirt Company.  She was a lifelong member of Elkwood United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold W. McDaris, Theron McDaris and Julian McDaris; sister, Barbara Taylor.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service was held at 2:30pm Thursday, October 31, 2019 in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Phil Taylor gave eulogy.

Burial was in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery.
