Obituary of Lydia Hill Clark

MARSHALL – Lydia Hill Clark, age 81, of Marshall, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019.

Lydia was born August 11, 1938 in Jefferson County, KY to the late James T. Hill, Jr and Bessie Ball Hill; she was a resident of WNC for most of her life. She was formerly employed at the Town of Weaverville and retired from Blue Ridge X-ray.  Lydia was a member of Grapevine Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Everette Griffin and sister, Jodi Rice.

Surviving are her husband, John Clark; daughter, Lisa Rice and Johnny Hampton and her two rare flowers, Karen and Kerry; sister, Kathy Knapp and husband Porter; brother-in-law, Butch Rice; grandchildren, Justin Rice and wife Sam, Tiffani Rice, Brandon Jennings, and Josh Griffin; great grandchildren, Angelina, Ryleigh, Dahlia, and Harley; nieces and a nephew.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2019 in Grapevine Baptist Church, Marshall. Reverend Danny Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery, Marshall.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville.
