David H. Warren posted a condolence

My wife and I just got back into town (Brevard) one day ago. We were away in Florida visiting my wife's mother. I went to Accordius Health today (January 19, Sunday afternoon) to bring the Lord's Supper to Norm and saw that his bed was empty. I had been bringing him the Lord's Supper for several months. One of the nurses confirmed my worst fears. I am very sad to learn that Norm has died. I always looked forward to seeing him. Sometimes on a Friday night or another week night, and especially on his eightieth birthday this past summer, I would bring him a large strawberry milkshake from the Cardinal Drive-In on Broad Street and visit with him for a while. He loved strawberry milkshakes. Nearly always he was laying in bed. Only twice did I see him in a wheelchair. Yet he never complained and always seemed glad to see me. I brought him some of my sermons on CDs, which he had asked to listen to. I also brought him some speeches from Gen. George MacArthur on CD. I can only remember seeing him once watching TV. Often he would read the Bible, of which he had several copies in his bookcase, or I would read the Bible to him, We would talk about his father and mother, and their family, and their farm, and about the Red Oak Church of Christ. Norm was a very good-hearted man. He was a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and I shall miss him dearly. I look forward to seeing him again.

May your light shine as brightly in Heaven as it did on earth.

My wonderful uncle Norman who loved to tell stories and sing the gospel. You will be greatly missed on earth but the Heavens will sing like never before.
Missing you,
