Obituary of Marjorie Parham Foster

ALEXANDER– Marjorie “Margie” Parham Foster, age 76, of Alexander, died Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Margie was born May 31, 1943 in Haywood County to the late Joseph Ray and Mary Ethel Reece Parham; she was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a school bus driver for Buncombe County Schools and retired after 33 yrs. Margie attended Carolina Baptist Tabernacle. She was also preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Muriell Carter Foster; sister, Joann Parham; brothers, Joseph Mark Parham, and Marvin Baxter Parham. Surviving are her husband, John Harold Foster, Sr.; sons, John Harold “Johnny” Foster, Jr. and wife Karen, William Ray Foster, Kenneth Alvin Foster and wife Margaret, Randy Matthew Foster, Sr. and wife LeAnn; sisters, Brenda Griffin and husband Gary and their son Kellen Griffin and his wife Sarah, Rhonda Lipe, Sandra Ware and husband Kenny and their son, Thomas; grandchildren, John Harold Foster III, Karenda Danielle Foster, Jordan Dakota Foster, Katarra Healy Foster, Hannah Alison Foster, Emily Grace Foster, Samantha Lily Foster, Randy Matthew Foster Jr, David Sandan Wade Foster; great grandson, Kyson Harley Foster; several nieces and nephew and their families and also, her pastor, Rev. Lanny Cobb and his wife Judy. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2020 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverends Lanny Cobb and Kellen Griffin will officiate. Burial will follow in Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2010 at the funeral home. Following the burial friends are invited to join the family at Macedonia Baptist Church Fellowship hall for dinner and fellowship.
