Although I only met Laura once, at our church (FBC Asheville), I feel that she has been a great influence on my life. As a young girl in the 1960’s, I was a member of the Girls Auxiliary (GA’s) of the Women’s Missionary Union at First Baptist Church, Jefferson City, TN, and our little group was actually named the “Laura Frances Snow GA’s”! Due to this, I grew up learning about Laura and so many other missionaries, what they did, and the countries and people they served. My friends and I were given many opportunities to participate in various “hands-on” ways to help people in our community, and even beyond into the world through prayers and giving. Much of the scripture I know from memory is the result of studying our “Forward Steps” in GA’s. This experience has influenced my life immeasurably to this day, as I’ve always had a heart for missions, teaching others about Christ, and studying His Word. Following Laura’s example (in much smaller ways) I have been privileged to take several mission trips, lead local mission activities, and even now am part of a team that ministers to women in prison. It was one of the great joys of my life to meet Laura that Sunday morning, clasp her hand, give her a hug, and tearfully tell her just what she had meant to me - and my friends - and countless others. Praise God for her life! We are praying for her family and friends to be comforted knowing that her life was well lived and that we will see her again!

Laurita was always a lovely lady. She used to love singing Christian hymns. Ina and I really enjoyed her company, and we both spent beautiful moments learning from her kindness and love to our Lord Jesus Christ. Gracias Laurita por tu cariño y amor.

Laura Betty and I always sat just behind you at FBC and marveled at your commitment to Christ and the people of Chile. Thank your for putting up with my basic Spanish when I visited you in the Baptist nursing home. Betty has gone on ahead of you so I am sure your are having a fine time talking about the things we shared at FBC
