Obituary of Blanche Paquette

MARS HILL - Blanche Paquette, age 98, died peacefully on February 29th, while taking an afternoon nap in her favorite chair. Blanche is survived by sons Claude Labrie and daughter-in-law Janice Labrie, Donald Labrie and daughter-in-law Laurie Labrie, daughters Francine Landry and Christiane Godbout, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Labrie, son Real Labrie and daughter Claire Labrie, and second husband William Paquette. Blanche was born on March 31, 1921 in Canada where she grew up on a farm with nine siblings. She and her then husband Paul immigrated to Maine during World War II, but she never lost her French-Canadian accent. After Paul’s death in 1968 she went to nursing school and became an LPN. Blanche worked at Maine Medical for ten years before moving to Florida where she met and married Bill Paquette. After he died she moved to Weaverville to be with daughter Francine and son-in-law Ray Landry. Blanche was known for her sweet disposition, beautiful smile, the wonderful meals and delicious desserts she lovingly prepared, and most of all, her love for her family.
