Thru life he was kind to people and an inspiration to all that he met!He preached his own funeral thru his ministry .Mr.Jerry will be truly missed and remembered for years to come. Please remember the family in your prayers and may God bless. Donald Payne

Jerry was a great help and friend in my ministry. He encouraged me and gave me opportunities when my own pastor at that time didn't seem to have time for me. I have sought his guidance over the years and will miss the discussions we had. We're praying for you family. Don't despair, remember the bible tells us "all things work together for good TO them that love the Lord, who are the called according to his purpose". Jerry recieved his good, but ours is still to come. We love you all. Jim Hollifield

Geneva and Family, we are remembering all the memories we made with you and Jerry. He was always the best praying partner I (Linda) had at Monticello Baptist Church. We always enjoyed coming by the book store and being with y'all either at your home or ours for meals. We were Blessed to be in services with you. Sending Special Love and Prayers to each of you!! Buck said he's jealous of Jerry because he got to Heaven before he did!!

Jerry always made me laugh, when my youngest daughter(molly ballard)was about 10 or 11 she snuck up the road on her bike right in front of the Kent house well he made her load up her bike and he brought her home not before he told her he would bust her tail if he caught her out by herself again, she didnt do that again. He was a very good man in life, I'm sure the Lord is happy to have him home. Geneva and family r in my prayers

Jerry was one of my favorite cousins. He always was out for a joyous time and wanted you to have just as much fun. A true Christian, he wanted everyone to know Jesus as he did. When people owed him for gas at his gas station at Woodland Hills, he would still give them credit and trusted God would take care of it. He has truly been an inspiration to me. I believe Jesus said, "Welcome home, thou good and faithful servant."

I have many great memories of Rev. Kent "Jerry". He was my Sunday School teacher as I was growing up and helped to Baptize me. He and his wife and kids were all great friends of our family and we always thought of them all as part of our family. I was really close with his daughter Tanya back then and always felt so welcome at their home.
I learned so much from Jerry in his Sunday School classes. He had a way of teaching with stories and songs that made it fun to learn. I can honestly say most everything I know about Jesus is what I learned from him.
Even as I got older and we had all moved on to other churches, when I would see Jerry out in public, he was always the funny and friendly man he always had been.
Jerry preached my dad's funeral just a few short years ago and my dad would've have been so proud at the service he gave.
Geneva, Tanya, Daryl and the rest of the family, I know this is a really rough time for you and I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Please know I will be thinking of you and praying for you!
Love,
Sandy Wilson Ray
