I will never forget Leona as long as I live. I loved and respected her. I enjoyed her bluntness and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. I had a story to tell about me, Leona and Ken Hyder, but I think it's on Joanna's Facebook timeline about my wedding rings, about 3 ft of cow manure and Leona. She was a blessing to be around. My deepest sympathy to the family. Sherry( Roger) Maney

A Witness posted a condolence

Leona is glad this day, July 9. 2020, I imagine, with the gathering of family and friends in her memory, that went off very well. Sunday Church was the only time I got to directly know her, but she let herself be known through a wide legacy of a wonderful family. Children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren —four generations—with their families and many friends, united today for a joyful farewell to a beloved, long-lived lady. The rain held, through the final service beside her grave, and then the sky cried. Representing, perhaps, a cooperative mourning for not a few hearts. —A Witness.

I have so many wonderful memories of dear Leona: Rose's, in & out of her home with Anita, Mr. & Mrs. Feimster, Church, Bible School, Tastee Diner, her love of good gospel music, & of course, her red cars & roosters! I pray that memories comfort us all until we see her again. This valley has lost another fine woman who knew the true meaning of hard work & family. May we follow her example by showing love, compassion, & a joyful attitude to all.

I sure will miss her sitting behind us at Church. I always liked talking about cars with her and how she said she would drive a red car until she died. She always kept her car shined up. We have lost a very strong Lady. Much Love to the family.
