My heart is broken to learn of Gopi's passing. He and Patricia are reunited once again, embracing and loving each other in Heaven. It warmed my heart and was a great testimony to marriage to watch them at Mass, when they would be holding hands or Gopi's arm was around Patricia's shoulder as they sat listening to the service. He was a kind, loving, compassionate and generous soul. I will miss seeing his smiling face and getting the warm hugs I always received from him. He and Patricia served on our parish's Marriage Preparation Ministry team and within the past year Gopi became a Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. May his family cherish the many fond memories of the both of them and find comfort in the knowledge that they are reunited again.
With our most heartfelt sympathies,
Carol & Robin Jordan

My late husband Terry and I first met Gopi and Patricia when we moved into their neighborhood in Weaverville, NC in 2012. Both Patricia and Gopi made us feel like family right away. I have wonderful memories of Gopi standing in our driveway while talking to Terry and our other neighbor Paul. Gopi always had a smile and a friendly word every time we met. One thing I’ll always remember him for is the little song he would sing. It was a simple la la la lala and he would sing that little song all the time. Gopi will be greatly missed, he was a kind and loving man like no other I’ve ever met.

I have so many memories of Gopi over our 30 year friendship. I always admired his love for God, family, and others, but most of all his gentleness. His love for Patricia and his family knew no bounds and that love extended to friends and strangers alike. His door was always open to me and my friends as we traveled through and our visits were always special. He would sometimes fix us an Indian dish, some of which I liked and others, not so much. Whenever I was with Patricia and Gopi laughter was always on the menu, and yet we able to share deeply as well. One day when Patricia and Gopi were staying at my place in Florida we went to the Fort Pierce Pier. A fisherman who was cleaning his catch gave Gopi a piece for him to feed the birds. But..... Gopi didn’t throw it quickly enough and the birds started rushing at him. Gopi always did move with slow purpose and loved to putz. Everyone started yelling “throw it, throw it”! He finally did, and with the morsel of food the birds backed off of him. Perhaps that is what he and Patricia were laughing at in one of the pictures I posted. On one of their trips to my place I provided Patricia and Gopi with a list of about 10 different things we could do while they were here, including kayaking, hanging out at the pool, going to theater, etc. Of all the things on the list, they chose motorcycle riding. We had a fun-filled day on the bikes, with a picnic and stops at some of the beaches along the way. I always had a wonderful time with both Patricia and Gopi. I learned so much from Gopi over the years. One lesson I with I had learned was to slow down, but that lesson never took. However, I did learn about lovIng unconditionally, gentleness and the gift of giving of one’s self. My friendship with Gopi was special and I will miss our phone conversations and my visits with him; until we meet again.

My wife Sharon and I along with our three children were and are extremely blessed to know Gopi and Patricia and to have the privilege to call them friends. To say that our lives were enhanced by Gopi’s loving friendship would be a huge understatement
It was and is a gift from God that cannot be measured. One of my favorite memories of Gopi was the day we celebrated his becoming an American Citizen, his straw hat ringed in red white and blue, the room filled with his infectious laugh..., he is and will be sorely missed. To his family we grieve with you and pray that our Holy Spirit comforts you in this difficult time,
With Love
Dave & Sharon Coe
