Vickie & Jerry Lemonds, Davidson NC posted a condolence

We were happy to be next door neighbors of Roy and Mary for 15 years in Reems Creek Golf Community. They were the best neighbors anyone could hope for. Even our cat, Gabby, adored them, visiting them often. My favorite memory of Roy, as we’ve said to Mary, was of Roy setting up a tea party with the grandgirls in his driveway. There were laughs and giggles from that direction and Roy sitting in a miniature chair w a petite cup in hand. We are very grateful that we knew Roy and Mary and are hoping that sweet memories and Roy’s legacy of love will comfort and sustain you and the family during this sad time.

My sincere sympathy to all of Roy's family. I was a tenant at One Oak Plaza for about ten years while Roy was the building manager. Roy was the best landlord I ever had. He was always available to make whatever accommodations were needed as I expanded and then contracted the size of my office suite. He was ALWAYS congenial and helpful in every way possible. Our community has lost a fine gentleman.

Mary, our family will always remember the hospitality you and Roy showed to us and the church in Monsey with the parties you threw, babysitting our kids and serving quietly behind the scenes. Roy’s was a life well lived in service to his Lord and you and your family have our sympathy and prayers for peace as you mourn his passing. Love, Kathy Troast

I remember meeting Roy in my first Church in Monsey New York. I remember him as a wise and gentle man who loved his family, his Lord, and the church. I came to value not only his advice and guidance but also his friendship. Mary, you, Roy, and your children, David and Marianne, were such a blessing in our lives, a real gift from God. May you all rest in His loving embrace during this time of grief. Pastor Len Troast

Uncle Roy was quite the generous gentleman. He loved his family and his beautiful wife, my Aunt Mary. They would have us over on the weekend to watch sports and share a meal together. We have so many wonderful memories of these family gatherings. Uncle Roy was pretty quiet but often came up with a witty comment that left everyone laughing! Classic Dad jokes included! I will miss his kind spirit, humor and willingness to have loved ones pile in all around his home ♥️ Rest In Peace Uncle Roy. You are loved and will be dearly missed. Tracy
