Mike and I send our condolences to Donnie and the family. Ann was my teacher but she was also my friend. Sleep overs at her home after Frank passed away and a special trip up to her family home in the mountains are special memories. I would stop by to see Ann on trips home to see her and each and every time she treated me with open arms. She taught me to be proud of my accomplishments and would tell me how proud she was of me. She would say a prayer with me before we would drive away. She loved my sons and held them when they were babies and as they grew up she marveled at how they were so special. I always thought I was her special student and now know she made so many of us feel like we were her favorite. Although time had passed between us I loved her and was blessed to call her my favorite teacher and friend!

Ann (Mrs. Ramsey) was one of my NBHS teachers and I mowed her BIG yard a few times. She was always quiet but in charge of her classes. She made you feel like you were SOMEONE, not just another student. She definitely lived her faith and displayed love as all Christians should. God bless her family in this time of separation until we meet again in heaven.

Ann and Donnie Ramsey were a very special couple to the Ray family. I hold a special place in my heart for these dear people. When I was at my lowest they were always near with kind words of encouragement, a ready smile and a prayer. These memories I hold dear. The world has lost a kind and gentle soul. My prayers are for strength and healing during this difficult time. Much love to you, Donnie.

In 1986 I was new to NBHS as a senior and new to the state. Ended up lucky enough to find myself in Mrs. Ramsey's Accounting classes. She was as sweet as could be and really helped to make my transition to a new school enjoyable. She was always happy and it showed on her face. I remember I once kissed a girl in the hall outside her classroom. I turned and saw her standing there; she just smiled and said "He's sparkin', he's sparkin'!" She was a joy, and being in her class was a highpoint of every school day.

My deepest condolences to Donnie, her greatest friend and partner in life. Mrs. Ramsey was first my teacher and then my deacon. She was gracious and forgiving, a friend to my parents, a light from heaven dimmed but never extinguished. Freedom from pain and confusion into the glorious presence of her Savior.

I moved from Illinois to Weaverville in 1974.....a confused replanted Yankee. I had Mrs. Ramsey that first year, and it was people like her who made my transition go well. Always had a soft spot for her, as she recognized my situation, and went out of her way to make me feel welcome. Thank you, and please Rest In Peace. Mike Martin
