Obituary of Abigail Elaine Sutton

WEAVERVILLE – Surrounded by her loving family, Abigail Elaine Sutton went peacefully from her Mother’s arms into the arms of Jesus on Friday December 11, 2020. Abby is deeply loved and missed by her parents, Aaron and Molly Sutton.

Abby was born on January 18, 2020 and exhibited valiant courage every day of her life. At birth, Abby weighed three pounds and seven ounces – though she was little, she was fierce. After 110 days, Abby left the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she received excellent care at the Medical University of South Carolina Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. Abby’s family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Eskandari, Dr. Chadha and their teams for their brilliant and kind treatment.

Abby triumphantly came home to Weaverville where she quickly fell in love with her “fur” brothers and sisters: Penny, Jack, Jill and Ziggy. Abby especially loved Monsters, Inc., swinging, play-mat time, her special stuffed owl “Orville,” bedtime stories, Christmas music, her beautiful Christmas tree and snuggling. Abby also loved visits from her grandmother, Susan Harwood Silver (“Lovey”); Uncle Wes and Aunt Megan Silver Washel (“Uncle Les” and “Aunt Sissy”); “Pa-Pa” Steve Ward and special caregiver and nurse, Aysia Keeter. In the words of her beautiful and strong Mother: Abby was one thousand pounds of force packed into a tiny body, she touched every heart she met and was a living miracle.

Because of Christ’s saving work on the cross and victory over death, Abby’s family will cling to the sure and certain hope of a glorious reunion with her in Heaven.

An outdoor Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, North Carolina 28787. All are welcome to attend.
