Obituary of Robbie Coates Wallen

WEAVERVILLE – Robbie Coates Wallen, age 90, of Weaverville, died Tuesday December 15, 2020.

Mrs. Wallen was born February 14, 1930 in Madison County to the late George Washington and Mae Clark Coates, and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a homemaker who delighted in flower gardening, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Landon Kendred Wallen who died in 2017; five brothers, and two sisters.

Surviving are her children, Mary Deane Kinnett and husband Ed of Clemmons, and Dearl Wallen and wife Carol of Fletcher; grandchildren, Stephanie Ulmer, Kendred Wallen, Jr., Chelsea Jennings and husband Aaron, and Katy Kidd and husband Erik; and great grandchildren, Abby and Charlie Ulmer, Naomi Jennings, Benjamin Jennings, and Charlotte Kidd.

Due to Covid-19, there will be a private burial at 2:00 p.m. Monday December 21, 2020 in Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville.

There may be a memorial service at a future date.
