Obituary of Juanita Roberts Buckner

ALEXANDER – Juanita Roberts Buckner, age 81, of Alexander, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Mrs. Buckner was born May 27, 1939 in Buncombe County to the late Lewis A. and Flonnie Pegg Roberts; she was a resident of Buncombe County all of her life. Juanita  retired as a  CNA from Brooks-Howell Home.  She was a lifelong member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Buckner who died in 2003; two grandsons, Keith and Ross Buckner; a granddaughter, Carrie Whitted; a sister, Betty Jean Herron; and four brothers, Junior, LA, Carl, and Harold Roberts.

Surviving are her two daughters, Charlene Shelton and husband Keith, and Kathy Treadway and husband Mike; three sons, Keith, and Aaron Buckner, and David Buckner and wife Linda; a sister Carolyn Roberts; a brother, Donnie Roberts; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Alexander. Reverends Dean Haney and Allen Roberts will officiate.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2021 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville.

Per the NC Governor, masks are required, with a limit of 25 people inside the funeral home at one time for the visitation.
