Obituary of Nell Howard Shelton

WEAVERVILLE – Nell Howard Shelton, age 93, of Weaverville died Thursday, March 18, 2021.

Mrs. Shelton was born June 13, 1927 in Buncombe County to the late Nathan and Ollie Church Howard; she had lived all of her life in Buncombe County. Nell loved to go antiquing, the Atlanta Braves, and most of all her family; including Mackie’s dachshund, “Molly”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, S.E. Shelton, Jr. who died August 24, 1979 and sons, Roger Shelton and Wayne Harwood.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda Harris of Weaverville and Pam Walters and husband Daniel of Gray, TN; sons, Mackie Shelton and wife Maxine of Barnardsville and David Harwood of Union, W. Va.; twelve grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.

Her graveside service was held Saturday, March 20, 2021 in West Memorial Park. Rev. Nelson Ponder officiated.
