Obituary of Drew McMahan

ALEXANDER – Joshua “Drew” McMahan, age 27, of Alexander, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Drew was born July 4, 1993 in Buncombe County to DeWayne and Mandy Buckner McMahan; he was a resident of Buncombe County all of his life. He was a graduate of North Buncombe High School and worked as an electrician’s helper.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Don and Juanita Buckner.

Surviving in addition to his parents, are his children, Braden, Jansen, and Abigail McMahan; paternal grandparents, David McMahan and Cheryl Cathey; and his maternal grandfather, Aaron Buckner.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 in French Broad Baptist Church, 144 Curtis Miles Road, Alexander. Reverends Dean Haney and Allen Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in French Broad Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends  5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 at West Funeral Home, Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services.

Per the NC Governor, masks are required; and there is a limit of 25 people allowed inside the building at a time, during visitation.

Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
