Chuck was under hospice care having fought a long battle with lung and heart disease.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as an aircraft engine mechanic.  Chuck retired after thirty-six years in 1991 from Micro Switch in Mars Hill as a Senior Technician Engineer.  He volunteered many years with Habitat for Humanity, Festival of Trees, and at St. Eugene Catholic Church.  Chuck was proud to experience the Honor Flight to Washington, DC on September 24, 2016.

He was the best husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend anyone could ever ask for.  He loved us all and taught us so much.  He was a man of many talents, achievements and accomplishments.  His own words “I’ve lived a good life.”  He will be remembered and always loved for the great man he always was.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James William and Anna Hart Kilcoyne; sons, Doug and Darryl Kilcoyne; sister, Anne Marie Duncan; brothers, Eddie and James Kilcoyne.

Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Dorothea Schunk Kilcoyne; brother, Joe Kilcoyne; daughters, Connie Kilcoyne and Cindy Kilcoyne Rodman (Michael); grandchildren, Sean and Chris Kilcoyne, Ashley Gambacort and Kento Kinjo; great grandchildren, Paola, Victoria, Naomi, and Matthew Kilcoyne, Hailey and Connor Davis and Braylynn Tipton.
