Obituary of Leonard Ray Cole, Jr.
ASHEVILLE – Leonard Ray Cole, Jr., age 50, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord Jesus, Monday, May 3, 2021.
Ray was born September 18, 1970 in Buncombe County where he had lived all of his life. He was a graduate of Charles D. Owen High School and for the last few years Ray attended Words of Life Tabernacle. Ray loved to play golf, motorcycles, and snow skiing. Most of all he loved his children. He was owner/operator of Detail Windows of Asheville
Surviving are his parents, Rev. Leonard R. Cole, Sr. and Martha Ann Dorsey Cole; his children, Leonard Ray Cole, III and wife Melanie, Jonathan David Cole, Alex Ray Cole and Faith Damour Cole; seven grandchildren, Karter, Gabriel, Ellie, Emma, Kynleigh, Stetson, and Mayleigh; a brother, Richard Cole and wife Teresa; and a niece and nephew.
His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverends Carl Bishop and Lewis Maynor will officiate. Burial will follow in Sky View Memorial Park, Asheville.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Saturday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Leonard Ray Cole, III, Jonathan Cole, Mason Allen, Wayne Hensley, Paul Hensley, Alex Cole. Honorary pallbearer will be Faith Cole.
Per the NC Governor, masks are required inside the building. Those who choose, may listen to the service on their car radio by tuning into FM 87.7, while in the parking lot of the funeral home.
