Obituary of Marty Duckett

MARSHALL – James Martin “Marty” Duckett, age 58, of Marshall, passed away at his residence, Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

Marty was born October 25, 1962, in Asheville.  He joined the US Marines in September of 1981 and served 8 yrs.  After the Marines he spent 20 plus years as a long-haul truck driver.  He was currently a part time employee of Madison County.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Henry Duckett. 

Surviving are his mother, Judy Ferguson Hyde; sister, Debra Youngblood and husband Dale of Barnardsville; brother, Jeff Duckett and wife Sonya of Vale; nephew, Derrick Youngblood and wife Jessica; nieces, Jessica Youngblood Wicker, Brandy Dison, Brooke Wiles and husband Michael; and several great nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville.
