Obituary of Ricky Carson

BLACK MTN. – David “Ricky” Carson, 62, of Black Mtn., died Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at the John F. Keever Hospice Center.

Ricky was the son of Marjorie Hensley Thompson and the late David Hugh Carson.  He was an employee of Wilsonart for over 35 years and cherished his work family and friends. Ricky was a member of First Baptist Church Black Mountain for over 40 yrs. He enjoyed camping and beach trips with his family.  Ricky was a fan of NASCAR, and especially #3; and was fond of riding his Harley with friends.  He loved his four children and his two “Little Princesses”. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of almost 40 yrs, Tammy Anders Carson; a daughter, Kristen Carter and husband Eric; a son, Christopher Carson and wife Sam; a granddaughter, Kelsey Carter and future granddaughter, Briella Carter.

His memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 2021, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Reverend Dr. T. David Phillips will officiate.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
