I am so very sorry to hear of Nancy's passing. She and my sister were the best of friends all through elementary and high school. They spent many happy hours and outings together. Nancy was truly a dear friend to her as she was to many others. Her kind heart and loving gestures were felt by many. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of her family.
Love and Blessings to you

My deepest sympathy goes out to Nancy’s family and friends. She and I were first cousins and spent a lot of fun time together as kids when my mother would go for a week’s visit to Barnardsville to see family. We were only 3 years apart in age and had many walks together up the road to Grandpa Banks’ house and beyond into the Coleman Boundary. We would beg her dad, my Uncle Henry, who was always so much fun, to take us down to the store riding in the back of his pickup and buy us drinks and candy. Of course, he always would. Aunt Idell fixed the best country meals for us. I loved Nancy, her sisters and parents. I will always have those memories with me.

Nancy Was a true and steady friend. I remember we once "choreographed" a dance to Elvis' "Jailhouse Rock" hit for a talent show at Barnardsville Elementary School; I believe we won a prize! Also, I remember a Halloween Party our Youth Fellowship had at Betty Sawyer's house. Nancy made a platter of candied apples; getting out of the car, she accidentally turned them upside down and they spilled out over the lawn. I can hear our laughter. And we sang a duet at Dilllingham Presbyterian Church. I remember the song was "Life Is Like a Mountain Railroad." What fun we also had riding the bus from Barnardsville to North Buncombe--such treasured memories! My condolences to her family and her other many friends. Nancy was truly an unforgettable character and friend. I shall miss her.
