Obituary of Grace Grater Pinson

WEAVERVILLE/ N. MANCHESTER, IN – Grace Grater Pinson, age 87, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Mrs. Pinson was born November 10, 1933, in Hamilton County, OH and was a resident of Weaverville since 2011. In N. Manchester, IN she was President and member of the School Board for 20 years.  She was active in the Local Community Park Board and other boards.  An active member in the N. Manchester U.M.C. choir; she was also an annual conference delegate.  She was a graduate from the University of Cincinnati and worked in the insurance business for 30 years. Grace was active in community choirs and was a charter member of A.O.Pi at University of Cincinnati. In recent years she was active in Weaverville U.M.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Grace Lancault Grater; and her husband, Thomas Jennings Pinson, Jr to whom she was married 60 years.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Pinson Lance and husband Kevin, and Thomas J. Pinson, III and wife Shannon; granddaughters, Marisa Pinson, and Liana Bartkowiak and husband Bryce; and grandson, Justin Lance.

Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. Clyde Denny will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Strauss-Peabody Aquatic & Fitness Center Endowment, Community Foundation of Wabash County, 220 East Main Street, North Manchester, IN 46962, in Grace’s honor.

She will be laid to rest at a later date in West Memorial Park.
