Bob(by), Sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. You were blessed to have had her for so long. It been a long time since 1967, but wanted to send sympathy to you and your family. Remember your fun and humor. Did not realize Beverly was your sister. She's a sweet lady and have known Ronnie all of his life. Take care.

Beverly,
I met you and your lovely mother at Bosom Buddies. I'm also a neighbor of Colleen Austin. Your mom was so vivacious and sharp. I know you will miss her but I think she must have had a wonderful life. I appreciate that you were called her caregiver. That is such an important gift of love and such a hard but rewarding service. With sincerest sympathy. Kathy Coldren

Lula - Nanny as I knew her, has been a bedrock to my faith in Christ from the beginning. From Carolina Tabernacle, to Monte Vista Campgrounds, to her current Covenant Church of the Highlands you knew where she would be when the doors opened. Nanny talked about her Jesus all the time and any, I mean any situation/relationship I ever shared with her that was challenging to me she always told me to never stop praying. I even learned my “laying in the bed praying” technique from her. She would tell me of times she would wake up in the middle of the night and just begin praying for her family and those she knew were hurting. I’m 6’3 and Nanny (around 5’) never took anything off me. If I was out of line she would look up, point her finger at me and give me the goods. So many stories to share and all of them woven with the thread of the Cross throughout and the salvation it brings to those who will confess and believe. I am so grateful God blessed me with such a great woman of faith to influence me all these years. One last thing - when I would leave and travel back home whether it was Georgia, Florida or back here in Raleigh Nanny told me time and time again “I’m praying for you”. My story is this - if no one else was praying for me I knew my Nanny was. Rest well in your reward Nanny, your Lord Jesus Christ. I love you and can’t wait to see you again. William Roland

Remembering Lula from our years together at Square D Company. She was a classy lady who was well-respected by all her associates. I'll always remember how pleasant she was and how intent she was in doing a quality job. She was truly a mentor and example for others. My condolences to her family and friends.

Although, I did not know Lula personally through shared stories of her life I feel as I did know her personally. She was a servant to God and loved her family. In addition, she seemed like a fun loving person. I know she will be missed by all and I am so glad that I was fortunate to have known about Ms. Lula. I am so sorry for the families loss and each of you are in my prayers.
Sincerely, Dana Daniels

Beverly, Bob, and all of the family. Lula was an inspiration to me and all that knew her. She told me on her 99th birthday at our Christmas party that she asked Jesus what he was waiting on, she was ready to go to him anytime. I am so going to miss such a great lady.
