Obituary of Rev. Troy F. Edwards

WEAVERVILLE/ERWIN, TN – Rev. Troy F. Edwards, age 86, of Erwin, formerly of Weaverville, died Friday, September 17, 2021.

Troy was born June 7, 1935, in Buncombe County to the late Willie Garrett and Dorsey Viola Hollifield Edwards. He was a resident of Buncombe County most of his life and moved to Erwin 18 years ago. Troy was formerly a carpenter and painter and had also been a Pastor for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Lewis Edwards.

Surviving is his wife, Rosalee Carver Edwards; daughter, Tammy Rebecca Friske of Georgia; sons, Barry Dale Edwards of Weaverville and Philip Anthony Edwards of Candler; sister, Willie Lee Cody of NC; grandchildren, Travis, Troy and Karsten; step-grandchildren, Mickey and Rick; two great granddaughters; a step-great grandson; friend, Sheila Allen; and special friends, Sharon and Stan Rainwater.

Graveside services were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in Long’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kevin Laws of Southside Baptist Church, Erwin officiated.

West Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
