Obituary of Pat Woodson

ALEXANDER – Pat Woodson, age 65, of Alexander died Friday, September 24, 2021.

Pat was born May 11, 1956, the third child of Jack Woodson and the late Jane Honeycutt Woodson.  She spent her entire life in Alexander with her parents and sisters, Ann, Linda and Jackie.  Pat truly loved her family with all her heart.  Anyone who knew her knows she would welcome new friends with open arms and had a magnetic way of drawing people to her.  She also had an incredible bond with her latest cat, Sugar, who continues to keep her seat on the couch warm. 

Pat was so very strong willed and enjoyed spending time at amusement parks riding go carts, playing with matchbox cars with her sisters and attending Halloween parties.  One of her most favorite past times was playing Old Maid, smiling and hooting when she realized she had won.  Pat had a way with babies as well, with such a natural motherly instinct she helped to raise her niece, Debbie; her nephew, Matthew; great nephew Cody; cousin, Kelly; and many others.

“Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.  Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed and very dear.”

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Flint Hill Cemetery, 231 Hughey Road, Alexander. Rev. Wes Pike will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at West Funeral Home, Weaverville.
