Obituary of Cleates E. Worley

WEAVERVILLE – Cleates E. Worley, age 88, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 1, 2021.

 

A native of Madison County, he was born June 1, 1933 to the late Burnett Carlton Worley and Hannah Belle Capps Worley. He retired from the Highway Division of NC where he led a crew that painted highway lines. Cleates loved fixing and refurbishing old timey farming and woodworking tools. He would bring them back to life and sell them at the flea markets.  He was a great cook and told wonderful stories about his childhood growing up on a farm. Cleates came from a large family; all of which are deceased except one sister. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Donna Bowens and Cathy Worley. He was a Christian.

 

Surviving are his wife, Eva Worley; daughter, Gail Worley Bowens and husband Eddie; son, Kenneth Worley; sister, Rosetta Worley and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

 

His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 8, 2021 in West Memorial Park. Rev. Clark Henderson will officiate.
