Obituary of William "Gale" Brown

 

MARSHALL – William “Gale” Brown, 81, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County. Gale was born December 7, 1939, to the late Mallie Emory and Ethel Teague Brown.

 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Harriett Scott Brown; daughter: Gaylyn Justice and husband Grady of Marshall; son, Scott Brown and wife Marquita of Leicester; grandchildren: Allison, Haley, and Nathan Brown, and Rachel (Clark) Worley.

 

Gale was a member and deacon of Alexander Baptist Church.  He retired from the United States Postal Service with 23 years of service.  He was a full-time farmer and loved driving his John Deere Tractor.  He took great pride in teaching his grandchildren about God and working on the farm.

Gale was a loving husband, dad, and papaw. 

 

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in Alexander Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Gerald Sprinkle officiating.

 

For those who wish to pay their respects, Mr. Brown will be available for viewing on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at West Funeral Home. The family will not be present.

 

At other times, the family will be at the home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Gideons, P. O. Box 1182, Marshall, NC  28753.
