Michael lived his entire 73 years on the family farm on Allman Hill Road in Weavervillle, along with his beloved sister, Alice Williams, who survives him and her husband J.B. Williams; and  their children Christopher Williams and Michele Kopp.

Also surviving, are his wife and the love of his life, Nancy Elizabeth Candler (Beth), who was honored to be his beloved and dedicated caregiver, along with his family.  His son and best friend, Nicholas Michael Candler and his wife Rebekah; his grandchildren, Caleb and Kailyn Candler (two of the greatest gifts God ever gave him); his daughter and forever daddy’s girl, Caroline Elizabeth Candler and her partner James Greene; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jane and Gene Robinson, and their daughter Cortney and her husband, Adam; and their children, Mallorie and Hadley Gordon.

He is a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and was ordained as a deacon at Antioch Baptist Church in Weaverville in 2004.

He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, and provider.

He worked for 50 years in the automotive industry, 45 years in the same location.  For 20 of those years, his son Nicholas was by his side.

The family wishes to thank his Hospice Caregivers, with a special recognition to Marsha Lunsford and Sara Davies, for their love, support, and guidance as he completed his journey.

We thank our precious friends for their gifts of love and sustaining prayer.  But most of all we thank our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for making the way for us all to come home.

A graveside home going service will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 2:30 pm, at the Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Stanley Peek and Pastor Caleb Kurbis will be officiating.  Everyone is loved, appreciated, and invited to attend.
