The Nordland Family,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I have some great memories of both your mom and your dad. They were great loving parents with a deep sense of community and religion. I remember your mom as a great homemaker raising 3 children into adults while keeping the house both clean and welcoming.
My thoughts are with you, Doug Hansen

Carolyn was one of those rare and special people who is a beautiful light in this dark world. She was filled with the joy of her Lord and had the heart of a servant, blessing all who knew her. She had the gift of hospitality, and invited even strangers into her home. One Sunday many decades ago, we were those strangers. We lived in NJ at the time and attended South Branch Bible Fellowship. My husband’s sister, Susan Swanson, was recently saved and lived in Black Mountain. We wanted to plug her in at a local Assembly so we brought her to the Asheville Gospel Chapel. We were immediately welcomed and embraced by Bill and Carolyn. She invited our family and my husband’s sister and her daughter for lunch after the meetings. We were treated to a scrumptious meal and experienced the sweetest of fellowship. It was a joy to be in her home and in her and Bill’s company. She left an indelible mark on my heart that day. She was the Proverbs 31 woman, and her selfless example and servant’s heart exhorts us all to holiness. We rejoice that she is now in her eternal home and in the presence of her beloved Lord and Savior for all of eternity.
