Obituary of Billy Lee Sluder

   Billy Lee Sluder, age 82, went home to be with the Lord November 26, 2021.

   Billy was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on January 19, 1939 to the late Clayton and Frances Rhymer Sluder.  He attended Carolina Baptist Tabernacle for many years, but was attending Erwin Hills Baptist Church in most recent years.  He enjoyed growing a garden, C.B. radio, and spending time with his family.

   In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Conley, and Ellis Sluder, and his sisters, Helen Clark and Louise Calhoun.

   Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years Josephine Frisbee Sluder; one son, Mike Sluder (Nancy); grandchildren, Chris Sluder (Jessica) and Holly Bailey (Michael); one great-grandson Abel Bailey; and brother Ray Sluder.

  Bill’s funeral service will be held at 2:30pm, Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in Erwin Hills Baptist Church, 281 New Leicester Hwy, Asheville, NC 28806. Reverend Andy McDevitt will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery, 767 Alexander Road, Alexander, NC 28701.
