Obituary of Rex Eugene Roberts

Rex Eugene Roberts, 90, died Saturday, December 4, 2021.

Mr. Roberts was born July 17, 1931, in Buncombe County to the late Frank W. and Annie D. Roberts. Rex was a lifelong resident of Western North Carolina. He was a retired painter, avid fisherman, and hunter. He enjoyed camping and being outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Carrie Holden Roberts and second wife, Anne Worley Roberts; sisters, Josephine Lanning, Vivian (Bib) Price, Gail Cutshall, and June Bearden; and brothers, Carrol Roberts and Jerry Dale.

Rex is survived by his daughter, Teresa Massey; a son, Chris E. Roberts; grandson, Zack Massey; stepdaughter, Susan Jordan; stepson, Mike Worley (Susan); step-grandchildren, Chris Jordan (Tonia), Alex Worley (Audrey), Adam Worley (Laura), Andrea Bava (Stephen), Tyler Worley, and Kindsey Worley; and six step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by  his sister, Lorette Plemmons; brothers, Ervin Roberts and Lynn Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2021, in Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Harry Culbertson Jr. will officiate.
