Obituary of Alice Harwood Jamison

Alice Harwood Jamison, age 79, of Weaverville, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

Mrs. Jamison was born August 28, 1942, in Madison County to the late Reverend Lonnie and Bessie Hensley Crawford. She was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life.

Alice retired as Assistant Vice President of the Trust Department of Wachovia Bank for 38 years. She was a member of Newbridge Baptist Church. Alice loved going to the lake and gospel singings.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by first husband, Dan Harwood; son, Jeffrey Harwood; sisters, Faye Bryant, Marsha Rogers, Shirley Bryant, and Lee Fisher, and son-in-law, Larry Griffee.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Jamison; daughters Kathy Griffee, and Deb Horres and husband Stratton; sons, Rick Harwood and wife Tracie, Bob Jamison and wife Pam, Howard Jamison, Jr and wife Alma, and Mike Jamison and wife Teresa; sister, Colene Higgins and husband Alton; brothers, Willie Crawford, Leonard Crawford and wife Louella, Carlie Crawford and wife Coleen, Steve Crawford and wife Linda, and Burlan Crawford and wife Arlene; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, in Newbridge Baptist Church, 199 Elkwood Ave, Asheville, NC 28804. Reverend Clark Henderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, 901 Aiken Road, Asheville, NC 28804.

The family will receive friends 12:45 - 2:15 pm, Monday, December 20, 2021, in Newbridge Baptist Church Family Life Center.

Per the family masks are required for all services.
