Obituary of Emma Buckner

WOODFIN – Emma Penland Buckner, 71, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Elderberry Health Care in Marshall.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Penland and Ruby Rogers Penland. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Buckner; and two brothers, Steve Penland and Wayne Penland.

Mrs. Buckner is survived by her husband, Kenneth Buckner who she married on June 23, 1966; three sons, Keith Dale Buckner, Sr., Kenneth Doyle Buckner, Jr. and Randy Lee Buckner; she is also survived by two sisters, Judy Revis and Hazel Rogers.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21 in the chapel of West Funeral Home, Weaverville, with Larry Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clarks Chapel Cemetery immediately following the service.
