Obituary of Doris Plemmons Huntsinger

OLD FORT – Doris Ann Plemmons Huntsinger, age 73, of Old Fort, died Friday, January 21, 2022.

Doris was born November 16, 1948, in Buncombe County to the late Harl and Clara Jones Plemmons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Huntsinger; sister, Barbara Pace and in-laws, Harry and Bernice Huntsinger.

Doris retired from Square D after 40 years of service. She was a devoted Christian and friend to many. Doris loved playing cards and her Saturday night LCR games with her Stonebridge family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Christy Vess and husband Jason; son, Michael Huntsinger and wife Jeanie; grandchildren, Sierra Nunnally and husband Trinton; Dennis Vess, Kaitlyn Pressley, Alex Huntsinger and wife Karli, Avery Huntsinger, and Dalton, Cole and Brett Gaynor; sisters, Sheila Plemmons, and Deanna Bell and husband Reggie.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Vess will officiate. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2022, at West Funeral Home.

Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
