Obituary of Betty Hall Hensley

ASHEVILLE – Betty Hall Hensley, age 93, of Asheville, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022.

Mrs. Hensley was born July 2, 1928, in Haywood County, NC to the late Delone and Mallie Penland Hall. She was a resident of Buncombe County for 40 years. She worked as a seamstress and retired from Mills Manufacturing. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jessie Reynolds, Clarsie Norman, Florence Worley, Christine Stevens and a baby sister, and brothers, Billy, Earl, Loran, Vergil and Alfred Hall.

Surviving is her husband, Russell C. “Corkey” Hensley and her sisters; twin sister, Retty Davis, Charlotte Krashor; sisters-in-law, Billie Hensley Mason and Kathleen Hensley of Weaverville; brother-in-law, Jerome Hensley and wife Paula of Weaverville, and many nieces and nephews.

Her graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Morning Star United Methodist Church Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville, NC.
