Obituary of Billy Ray Lamb, Sr.

WEAVERVILLE  - Billy Ray Lamb, Sr., 73, of Weaverville, NC, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022.  Mr. Lamb was born June 25, 1948 to the late Glen Lamb and Pauline Biddix Lamb. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Hazel Lamb, Don “Ralph” Lamb, Shirley Wills, Judy Villa, Glen “Bud” Lamb, and George “Sam” Lamb and his grandson, Billy Ray Lamb, III. 

He is survived by siblings, Dorothy Rice of Barnardsville and Betty Walker of Asheville; the love of his life, Cecile Lamb;  his children, Billy Lamb (Wilma), Shena Lamb, Tony Lamb; grandchildren, Bethany (John), Ronnie, Vanessa (Ben), Zakk (Brittany), Christian (Kota), Katee (Alex), Jake, Jordan, Austin (Sammie), and Evan; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Dustin, Riley, Jace, Kinslee, Hayden, Levi, JJ, Walker, Sophie, Everlee, and Abel; special daughters, Rhonda (Keith) and Alisha (Brandon); special friend and caregiver, Andrew; and Mr. Lamb’s best friend, his dog “Buck.” 

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC with Reverends Donna Buckner and Dennis Anderson officiating.  Having proudly served in the United States Army, Mr. Lamb will be interred in the Veterans Section at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, NC.   The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022 also at West Funeral Home.
