Obituary of Luther W. Hensley, Jr.

CANDLER -  Luther W. Hensley, Jr., age 80, of Candler, North Carolina went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Brian Center in Weaverville, NC. Mr. Hensley, who was known as “Junior”, was born on June 8, 1942 in Buncombe County, NC, to the late Luther W. Hensley, Sr. and Mary Webb Hensley. 

Mr. Hensley was of the Christian faith. Before his illness, he attended Sand Hill Baptist Church.  He was a hard-working man who loved making furniture.  He was a veteran of the United States Army. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by his three children, Patty Ann, Lisa and Mark; his siblings, Barbara Garrison, Pete Hensley and Harold Hensley; and his brother-in-law, Ray Thompson. 

He is survived by his sister, Marjorie Thompson; his brother, David Hensley and his wife, MaryLee of Indiana; his brother-in-law, Bill Garrison; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

There will be a graveside service with military honors for Mr. Hensley at West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, NC at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
