Obituary of Elmer David Harris

ASHEVILLE– Elmer David Harris, age 90, of Asheville died Thursday, January 9, 2020. Elmer was born September 24, 1929 in Madison County to the late Roy and Arizona Mowee Harris. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Mae Harris who died in 1999. Surviving are his daughters, Debra Shelton of Weaverville, Pam Talley of Asheville, Ann Ingle of Weaverville and April Riddle of Black Mountain; sister, Linda Metcalf; brother, Henry Harris and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2020 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. Albert Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020 prior to the funeral service.
