To Steve, Edna, George and Kelly and Owen, my heart is sad and aches for your loss. I send you my thoughts, love and prayers at Florence’s passing to heaven.
I have many beautiful memories of my Sister-in-law Florence. She was generous, loving and caring of all of her family. Florence was a very intelligent, talented woman. On my Christmas tree are her delicately crocheted snowflakes. They hang next to ones crocheted by her Mother Blanche. I treasure all of them and the memories of Christmases past. Her watercolor paintings are beautiful, and one she painted for Bob when he was ill is of a winter scene, and is displayed every winter. Her many greeting cards, artfully painted, are enjoyed over and over again. Florence not only made beautiful snowflakes, but also crafted expertly counted cross-stitch pieces. Delights to all who received them.
When we had young children, Florence created Happy Birthday cakes designed with Mickey Mouse characters and other whimsical themes that made everyone smile. She and Steve often included our Robyn when they took George, and later George and Edna on trips to historic sites to enjoy and learn history at the same time. As a registered nurse she poured out her caring knowledge and encouragement to her patients, including my Aunt Anna when she worked at that nursing center.
I first met Florence when Bob and I started to date as teenagers. She was 4 years younger and when I visited their home, sometimes their cousins Ruth Ann and Louise Scott would be there. I not only enjoyed meeting them but have counted them as life-long friends.
While I am saddened that I cannot visit with Florence, I feel sure she is safe and happy with the Lord and is reunited with her parents Blanche and Bob, my dear husband Bob and her cousin Louise among many others.
You were a beautiful and positive influence in my life, Florence, rest in peace.
Ella
